What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a safe and effective form of manual medicine that uses hands on techniques to assess, diagnose and treat musculoskeletal problems. Osteopaths undertake a 5 year masters degree at university and are highly skilled at eradicating your pain permanently.

Osteopaths are competent at diagnosing many forms of musculoskeletal problems as well as spinal problems. Once your condition is identified, Osteopaths can use a variety of gentle hands on techniques such as massage, manipulation, stretching and exercise prescription to holistically improve the body’s capabilities of self healing.

Osteopaths examine more than just the site of pain. They also assess surrounding and related body parts, ensuring comprehensive treatment for every patient by locating the true source of the problem.

The profession of Osteopathy was founded by Amercian doctor Dr Andrew Taylor Still and has grown into a world wide therapy and one of the most effective, scientifically proven and complementary therapy options available.

Being government registered health care practitioners, patients do not need a GP referral to see an Osteopath.
